Pesado HD - High Diffusion E61 Shower Screen
Introducing the Pesado High Diffusion shower screen. Designed for precision and consistency, eliminating the main issues causing irregular extractions.
Uneven water distribution has always been an issue when trying to achieve consistent extractions, this can be caused by the irregular water flow path through mesh shower screens, smaller surface area coverage and uneven puck infusion. Utilizing 18 channels we can target the exact spots every extraction, resulting in consistent water flow between every shot.
Combined with the unique feature of the outer channels running all the way to the edge of the shower screen, controlling water flow to target the entire puck bed right to the basket edge, giving us complete control over our water diffusion every shot.

Seal Compatibility Notice:
When installing Pesado HD (High Diffusion) Shower Screen, you may notice that your portafilter feels slightly loose. Don’t worry, this is completely normal. The HD screen is specifically designed to work best when paired with the HE (High Extraction) baskets - for the best coffee experience.
If you're not using an HE basket and prefer your portafilter to lock in closer to the 6 o’clock position, here are a few easy solutions:
A. Use a shim behind the group seal.
You can purchase pre-made spacers or DIY your own using household paper materials, adjusting thickness as needed.
B. Try a thicker group seal.
Group seals are available in small size increments (typically 0.5mm or 1mm).
C. Upgrade to a HE Basket
Pair your HD screen with Pesado HE basket for the perfect fit and performance.
Why Your Stock Shower Screen Is Holding You Back The stock mesh shower screen that comes fitted to most E61 group head machines covers only up to about 54mm in diameter — leaving 4–5mm of the basket perimeter unreached. That gap represents roughly 10–15% of the puck bed receiving significantly less water than the centre, contributing to uneven infusion, channelling along the basket wall, and shots that are frustratingly difficult to dial in consistently. The Pesado HD High Diffusion Shower Screen was designed to solve this problem directly, with a 58.35mm diameter that reaches edge-to-edge across the full puck surface — and a channel-based diffusion system that ensures every millimetre of that coverage is putting water exactly where it needs to be.
18 Channels, Engineered for Precision and Repeatability Rather than relying on the unpredictable flow path of a mesh screen, the Pesado HD uses 18 precisely machined channels to direct water flow across the puck bed in the same pattern, to the same locations, with the same distribution — every single extraction. The outer channels are the key innovation: they run all the way to the rim of the 58.35mm screen, directing water flow outward into the basket wall rather than leaving the puck perimeter dry. The result is a complete, uniform infusion from the very first moment water contacts the grounds, shot after shot, without variation.
What's in the Box & Compatibility The Pesado HD E61 Shower Screen set includes one 58.35mm HD Shower Screen, one matching diffusion plate, and a shower screen screw — everything needed for installation, with no additional hardware required. The screen is machined from 304 stainless steel at 3mm thick, replacing the standard screen and sitting above it with the diffusion plate acting as an intermediary to optimise flow before it reaches the channels.
Compatible with all E61 group head machines except Belleza, Expobar, CREM, Turin, and Gemilai E61 groups. Seal compatibility note: the 3mm thickness of the HD screen may cause your portafilter to lock in slightly looser than usual. This is normal and resolves fully when paired with the Pesado He[%] High Extraction basket (recommended). If not using an HE basket, a thicker group seal or a group head shim will restore the standard lock position.
